Through text and 176 excellent photos the book describes how the city of Bergen, western Norway, has changed and developed during the last 40 to 60 years. A selection of old aerial photos from Billedsamlingen at the Library of University og Bergen is photographed today from almost exactly the same point in the air. The old photos are very detailed and they give a great insight in the city and the areas around and how it was in the years just before Second World War and in the 1950's and up to the beginning of 1960's.
Most of the old photos are taken by the aerial photography company Widerøes Flyveselskap, and has never been published before.
The same motivs taken before and today are placed against each other in the book, so it is easy to compare and it is exciting to investigate the differences.
You can see some examples of pages here.
The journalists Lotte Schønfelder og Normann Kirkeeide (former Bergens Tidende) have a lot of knowledge of Bergen and has wrote the text (in norwegian). Hans Ree is the photographer of the new photos and have designed the book. Here are the writers.

The book also contains a chapter telling the story behind the old photos, and about the photo pioneers in Wideroe and about the company.

Here is a review in the local newspaper (Bergens Tidende).
