Discover Bergen. Norway, from the air, through 116 large aerial photos in color – socalled ORTHO PHOTOS. The photos are accurat, which means they are just like maps, but at the same time having a photo's incredible details.
You can have a look on your vicinity from above, discover new areas you didn't even know existed. Study the structure of the city, the sparsely buildt-up areas and the landscape and get to know how Bergen really looks like. This book gives you a fantastic view over the Bergen community.
You can also use it as a streetmap to find a street, a road, an adress or a place. An index with more than 3400 names makes a quick find possible.

The community is showed on:
• 16 pages of Bergen center at scale 1:2600 ( see excample from Bryggen here)
• 180 pages of built-up areas at scale 1:6500 (see excample Åsane and Kronstad)
• 36 pages at scale 1:13000 of the sparsely buildt-up areas (see excample Vidden)
The photos have all the street and road names from the official street-register (1864 names). There are also more than 1500 names in the landscape, names on schools, churches, some buildings etc). Here is an excample .
In the back of the book are an index with all the names alphabetically. Each name has a reference code which points to the page and place on the page where the names are placed.
There are also a chapter telling about the making of ortho photos (in norwegian only).
The aerial photos in the book has been delivered from Bergen Community, Department of surveillance, on behalf of Sameiet Grunnkart Bergen (Joint ownership of Bergen Maps).
